How long until they are no good?

I was just wondering how long eggs are good for once put in the refrigerator? I am going to start selling some at our local grocery store and I need to put a "Best By" date on them.....

You might need to check with your state health dept on that. Most states require that the eggs be washed, graded and inspected. Varies greatly from state to state,county to county and town to town. Regular store eggs can be anywhere from weeks to months old.

Be very careful if you are selling your eggs at a local grocery store. Once you start selling retail and not just off the farm things change. You should do some serious research on labeling of food products. As far as the USDA is concerned you can not just label your products for retail sale as you see fit. You must follow their guidelines or you could be fined or have serious trouble. You will need to weigh your eggs, candle them, label them correctly as to the grade and size. Please be careful as you could set yourself up for a big problem in the future.

Well I guess that puts a stop to that idea. Thank you all for the replies and warnings. Sounds like a lot of trouble to sell the maybe 5 dozen a week. Thank you again, Marcy
