How Long Until They Get Used to You?

I love it! One of the chicks does this with me already! The advice in this thread is definitely helping. I’ve just been hanging with them, letting them eat from my hand. A couple of them come to the door when they see me now . Hopefully my more shy girls follow. My hope is that when they are older they will be comfortable with me. We have a big fenced yard for free ranging

If you truly love your babies and want them around a long time, please be very aware of the predators who can take your babies lives and break your heart. I could never bear to see this happen to mine. My ladies have time to free range when me and the dogs are standing outside with them. The hawks around here are very bold. I keep them locked up safe and sound the rest of the time.

Yes! We will only free range when we are present to watch. We are also building a coop / run that is like Fort Knox. I appreciate you sharing. We do not have a dog to scare the hawks however.
