How long will hen sit if eggs dont hatch out

My chicken hen sat on a clutch of peafowl eggs that didn't hatch out. She is still sitting on them even though they are over 5 weeks old. I thought she would just abandon them but she hasn't. I will remove the eggs from the nest but wondered just how long a hen will keep sitting even though the eggs are too old to hatch?

I've had hens sit up to 3 months before they become depleted enough to give up. It's always best to break them. You could try blocking her nest to see if she will break.

If there is no hope for the eggs, put the hen in a suspended wire bottom cage.
Sometimes they will stay till they die.
