I have a Speckled Sussex who has been sitting on her nest over 2 months. Hatching a plastic egg. So far nothing has happened, but she doesnt't seem to be giving up hope. I take her out every night after the others go in, she eats, poops, drinks a little water and runs right back in. The others pick on her, I don't know if that is a result of her not being around, or the cause of her sitting on the nest. I don't have any fertile eggs, our little banty rooster can't hit the mark. Just wondering what the record is for a confused hen?

Take the plastic eggs away. Those are only needed when hens first start laying to show them where the nest boxes are to encourage laying in them. Once they have a laying routine you can take the aid away unless they start laying elsewhere.

They can go on and on, so I take everything egg shaped away.
