How long will they live???

I currently have 4 RIR and i would like to know how long will they live????

According to the FAQ , maybe ten years.

Between their first and second birthday is usually the best egg-laying year. It will taper off sometime after that.

I don't think too many chickens die of old age though. Even if not, you know, stewpotted. Between diseases and predators and Female Troubles, it is a kind of risky business being a chicken.

Some people have like 15+ yr old hens, though.
