How long?

How long did you leave her to settle in the new place?
It can take a couple-few hours...up to a day.
I move them before I give them fertile eggs,
a truly broody bird will settle in pretty quick on fake eggs.

I would think 24 hours would be ok.

But, yeah, this^^^
She was in the crate almost 13 hours. I put her in the crate with her 2 eggs that she was sitting on after only 2 days of sitting. I didn’t give her the eggs, I just let her keep them. I’ve Been letting each Hen hatch two eggs, trying to see who will be the best mama for future reference.

I never move mine till I know she is totally committed.

How long had she been on the nest before you moved her?

Is she on nest most the day and all night?
When you pull her out of nest and put her on the ground, doesn't she flatten right back out into a fluffy screeching pancake?
Does she walk around making a low cluckcluckcluckcluckcluck(ticking bomb) sound on her way back to the nest?
If so, then she is probably broody and you'll have to decide how to manage it.

When I have a broody I wait until she's been in the nest most the day and all night for 2-3 days...along with those other signs I posted.

Then I put her in the broody enclosure with fake eggs in the floor nest, she won't like being moved, but if she is truly good and broody she will settle onto the new nest within a half a day.
Then I give her fresh fertile eggs and mark the calendar.

I like them separated by wire from the flock, it's just easier all around.
No having to mark eggs and remove any additions daily, no taking up a laying nest, no going back to the wrong nest after the daily constitutional.

I would suggest moving her and her eggs after dark.

If the move still fails, take a pencil and draw a line all the way around her hatching eggs, around the middle. That way you'll always know which ones are hers, whichever way she turns them.

She has been broody for awhile, she has been sitting on her eggs since 2-27. They are due 3-20. She just didn’t like being pinned up. Can’t blame her, lol. I have a little x on both ends of the two eggs. I don’t mind collecting the extras a couple times a day, just gives me a reason to love on BooBoo some more. I just was wondering how long I could leave them, on the days I’m gone, before growth starts. I really, REALLY, don’t want to open an egg for breakfast and it have an embryo starting!! Yuck!!

Like I mentioned earlier, she’s been broody. She is my 3rd broody silkie, (one at a time, thankfully) I’ve had staggered hatches since Christmas, between my Broodie’s and the incubator. And as mentioned, I don’t mind at all collecting the eggs. I will keep your suggestions in mind though, you never know. Lol
