Depends the breed and environment, pictures could be nice. is she loosing feathers? Could be a molt
Oh yes, mine i bought took 2 weeks before she started her eggs. Molting and other situations can also apply.
Not a molt - it’s been 4 weeks now since I brought her home. She’s been accepted by the others (only 3 others so not real stressful to begin with). I’ve tried messaging the guy I got her from who told me she was young and laying but no reply....I guess I’ve been “had”??
Hard to say. The move to a new home may have disrupted her enough that she won't resume laying until spring has come. So you should know soon enough...
Everyone here is right, might take her a bit to get on her feet and produce, some breeds like silkies just stop laying. Whats the breed?
8 months isnt really old, mine still lay and some are that age If thats what you mean
No meaning they say there 8 months in reality they are a few years old
