how long?

my hen munchie hatched three chicks and her & the chicks are all in a cage away from the rest of the flock. how long until munchie can leave them and go into the flock again? how long before the babies can join the flock?

I always separate new mama hens with chicks from the rest of the flock for at least 4 weeks. That's just me.

Some folks integrate them right away if they have a very protective mama.

ok thanks i'm just so nervous because both munchie and her babies are so much smaller than the rest of the chickens but munchie is pretty protective so idk. i guess i'll wait until they are at least too big to get into the cats part of the barn

I separate the mother first, when the chicks have 1, 2 months. She generally decides the moment by herself( she starts laying). Then the chicks, one month later.
