how long does a rooster stay productive?

Just as with any species it varies from individual to individual. Most roosters remain fertile throughout their lifetime although physical problems may limit their ability to mate the hens. On the other hand, a friend of mine had a strain of HIGHLY inbred WCBP where most of the roosters were no longer fertile by the time that they were 3 years old.
