How long

Generally, 21 days. (If they are Serama eggs, its approximately 19 days.) Candling will help you see what's developing. Read some articles on incubating and hatching eggs. You will find all the info you need.
Good luck!

You shine a very bright light into one end of the egg. It's easier to see inside the egg if you're in a dark room. With my green or dark-shelled eggs, I shine a light in both ends of the egg and that really lights them up. You won't see much if you candle before 5 days or so of incubation, though. CinnamonQueen has good advice - do research. Lots of it. There are very good threads here on BYC about anything you want to know about chickens.
