So based on the schedule below - how many do you think are laying now?

    day 1: 1 egg
    day 2: none
    day 3: 1 egg
    day 4: none
    day 5: 2 eggs
    day 6: none
    day 7: 2 eggs
Day 8: 3 eggs (and they spent the day locked in the coop with a giant wood chipper 6 feet away making horrible noise all day. The chickens were very agitated when I peeked in and was shocked to find 3 eggs)

To determine if a hen/pullet is laying, pick her off the roost at night and feel the bones UNDER the vent. If she is laying, a pullet will have room to insert 2-3 fingertips BETWEEN the bones. Pullets that are not laying will have only room for one fingertip. Try it. It`s easy to figure out.......Pop

I think you have 3 laying. They will take days off periodically but rarely will you get more than one egg in 24 hours. Congrats!
