How Many Bantam Hens Do I Need For A Bantam Rooster?

I was just wondering how many Bantam hens I should get for my bantam rooster. Anyone know?

At least 10 would be good but if they are a heavy breed like cochin or brahma you may get by with fewer.

It depends. When I had chickens as a child, we always had a lot more bantam roosters in with their hens than large fowl roosters. Bantams seemed to travel in very small groups with one to three hens per rooster.
More recently I've had 6 hens per rooster and unfortunately now I'm down to 3 to one thanks to a hawk, but it doesn't seem to bother anyone. Sometimes the rooster will add one of the smaller large fowl chickens to his group for a bit. Hopefulkly I can hatch some more bantams come spring.
