I will buy Cornish in feed store here and there in May & August!
I have a dual-purpose flock! I am still looking for the perfect bird also!
I will put slow with fast together (so they balance each other) to get nice fryer through out the year!
I have a some growing in the brooder from October hatch!
2 Brahmas (slow grower)
3 Plymouth Rocks (fast grower)
2 Jersey Giants (slow grower)
4 EE (in between grower)
1 Rhode Island Red (fast grower)
1 Red Sexlink (to skinny to matter)
2 Roosters
1 RIR
1 Jersey Giant
I suggest picking a few different breeds (best suited for your area weather wise & personality you want) 4 of each would let you get a feel for the breed & you can pick the one you like best! Get a few broilers/Cornish!
I would plan on putting broilers/Cornish in tractor after they feather out ((Less mess))
