How many can this hold?

I thought so, it seems the more roaming time they get, coop size isn't an issue. I was talking about your german shepard. I know my dogs will chase, but I don't know about killing. That's a nice coop you got! I really like the beautiful space your chickens can roam!

To me, the more space they have to roam the better. That fence is only 2 1/2ft high. They never fly out. My areas in the back have a 4 ft fence and the leghorns and light Brahmas are always getting out. And have more room. Leghorns are so flighty. Got to love them. This is after I painted it.

This is actually my first pen area and that house when I first started 3 years ago. Had 13 chickens in there. I soon found that area was way to small for them.

PS that is not the roosting poles I have in there. Was experimenting. LOL

Nice! We have ours primered, have yet to pick a color. Our fences are 6 ft tall so it'll take more effort, but our leghorns aren't full grown so that may change.

Ours are about the same age! At least 10 weeks. We may have a "protective" pullet forming.

I read that pullets' faces turn pink/red when their hormones kick in and they are preparing to lay. Is that true?

Usually true with all breeds. The roos will normally turn red first. But with anything that's the norm but not always so.

Our handsome cockerel Jasper at 7 weeks old. We had to give him away though.
