I just had my dad give me a coop its 6 feet wide, 8 feet long, and ten feet high. My question is:how many chickens can i put in this coop and keep every one happy? i have 7 chickens now and i'm getting 8 more. will this be to much for this coop or should i add on to make more room?

We bought a pre-fab 4'x6' coop and the manufacturer said that it's good for up to 15 average size birds. Yours is bigger than that, so you should be FINE with 15!

Raising Chickens for Dummies purchased from BackYard Chickens (Thank You) suggests and I quote " a minimum of 2 square feet of indoor shelter area per bird (actually, 3 to 4 feet is better) and 3 to 6 square feet of outdoor run area per bird".
Number wise you're okay but I hope there's an outdoor run attached.

Several of the girlz are bantams. We're good on run space. See below. It extends the entire length of the coop behind the coop too!
