How many chickens in a box?

Is there a good rule of thumb for shipping chicks/ pullets/ chickens?
There are 1-4 hen boxes, but how does that translate to smaller breeds or younger chickens? I thought maybe someone had a clever chicken math equation I could use (similar to 4' per hen in coop)?
Also, has anyone tried to make their own? I have access to the heavy waxed ventilated produce boxes that don't cost $20 a box!
I want them to arrive safely, and I also want the buyer to get the best value possible as well (between the charge for boxes & USPS shipping cost, its a hefty purchase!).
Thanks for any advice!

I've only ordered eggs so far, but I have someone who's interested in a few pullets I have, 2.5 months old about. Just curious how many I should put in one "single chicken" box.
