How many chickens (not chicks) IN your house?

We currently have 4 OEG bantams sleeping in the house and a few weeks ago had 3 Delawares and 2 OEG bantams sleeping/living in the house. I was just wondering how many others had chickens inside

We are talking chickens not chicks!!!

And a whooollle mess of baby button quail with a coturnix in there too.

unless they are sick or hatching, they belong outside, and would never consider a live in chicken, we are not the beverly hillbillies.

2 bantam roosters. sometimes 2 bantam hens and a dorking rooster if its realllllly cold.

By the way two of the Delawares had mites(and no the rest of the flock did not). The other Delaware was new and under quarenteen as were two bantams. The four bantams that were in the house last night were the two that were under lock- down one that was trying to be broody, and one we didn't want to be lonely

We don't have a farm or a barn and would probably have chickens in the house at some point if I did. (stepping off of soapbox now)

I had a old hen in the house for several months. She was half blind and could not find food so I kept her in a guniea pig cage with food and water. She was in my kitchen and so she got lots of bits of food. She loved the extra attention and was very happy untill she finally passed away

3 seramas, 1- blind millie fluer d'uccle hen and a crippled pekin drake. My friends think I'm a little strange,but they love me anyway.

We only have one in the house- she came in because she was sort of staggering and looking poorly and the other girls were starting to peck her. We brought her in to recover, she staggered around for a couple of weeks and, in the process lost any winter acclimatization she had. I just can't put her back outside in the single digit temps we have here (and I'm not keen on sitting outside to see if the other girls will accept her back). She is inside until spring and we can re-introduce her to the sisters. (and, in the meantime, she has recovered and has started laying again- an egg every other day- to pay us back).

Well I AM a Beverly HillBilly, and right now I have 7 silkie babies in my BEDROOM! If I hadn't lost my whole flock when I was in the hospital, I would find a way to have them all in here. I love my chickens and I live in Michigan and it gets COLD. Someday maybe I will be able to afford a little heated home for them, until then, they will be inside till it's nice enough for them.

They have a nice little cage, they don't run loose. And it is alot of work keeping them inside. Keeping them clean everyday . . .

I have one designated house chicken. She was injured and not doing well with the cold, and the others were beating her. She had to work way to hard for food and water. Now she's still got a puffy face but she's healthy and happy and laying an egg a day.
