Rule of thumb is 4 sq ft floor space per hen minimum. You could easily fit 10 in the coop IF it has that much floor space after nest boxes and roosts. The run is good enough for 8-10 as well. If they are free during the day that's a bit better, but they still need a bit of room at night and in bad weather. If you'd "like" 25, you can do it. Thing is, it might not be worth it with the extra hours of daily cleaning. When it's stinky and hard to clean, chickens get sick from the bad air, they get crowded and mad, start pecking and injuring each other, then the flies start laying eggs, the chickens have maggots...Only 8. Coop is 7 1/2 feet long and 6feet wide and 6 feet tall. Is that not big enough. I would like 25 free during the day. Run is 14 feet long 6 feet wide and 8 feet tall.
That would make your chicken keeping much easier, life with chickens much more manageable and your chickens much healthier and productive. Lots of other stuff you can do regarding bedding, feeders, waterers to make this easy. Type a subject in the forum search bar for tons of great ideas.
