How many chickens?

We have five pullets (BA, DOM, EE, BR, and a wellie), and they're all integrated with each other just fine. None are laying just yet, but we picked based on our usage (which runs 4-8 eggs per week), in hopes of having a few leftovers to share with our neighbors.

So figure out what breeds will lay meet your average need and then choose which breeds/how many of each breed by those that interest you most.

you can get one of each breed i have 5 ginger hens then i have one of different breeds after that

I have 5 girls in their puller year. They've been laying around 2 months. I've been getting 4 or 5 eggs every day for the last month or so. I think I've only had 2 days of three eggs ans one of those was due to a soft egg being laid. I know this will slow down over time but it gets us over 2 dozen a week and I plan to introduce new pullers over time to keep 5 layers active at 18 to 24 a week.. My chickens are 2 Delaware 1 Rhode Island Red and 2 Easter Eggers.
