How many chicks do I order?

Ideal has pretty good chick illustrations on the web site if you're still trying to sort. Brown Leghorns are chipmunk-y chicks. So are partridge cochins, I think, but they should have feathers on their legs.

I had to go look up Black Shamo, wow, what a cool-looking bird that's going to be.

What is a black SK? (edited to add: whoops, I see you don't know either. Maybe someone will come along and splain it to both of us!) Gold SLs are golden sex links. If yours are supposed to be pullets, they should be kind of reddish.

Originally I wanted 4 birds so I got 6. All six survived until a neighbhood dog killed one a few months ago. I have increased my flock since. I got 20 and lost one chick.

I originally wanted 6, ordered 12 bumoer it to 13. I too thought I would loose some in shipping some through my inexperience. but all arrived alive and doing well.

I will have to increase the size of the coop.

I called Ideal the roosters are Rhode Island Reds or Production Reds.
