I will try my best to this this sound sane??

Does anyone know how many eggs can be fertilized during a mating session?

No, this is not a joke or trick. Our rooster has recently moved to the edge of town where his chronic crowing won't make the neighbors grumpy. Our hen is more than welcome to have shall I say congical (sp) visits. Do I need to leave her there until she lays a few eggs or, will she lay, back here, after a "visit", sleepover"?

Thanks, for your input.

You don't need a rooster for a hen to lay eggs. If you want fertile eggs for hatching she will need to visit the rooster. One breeding will last 2 weeks (maybe a bit more). Of course there maybe an issue of her accepting him if she doesn't see him regularly year round.

Thank you for your input. The week long fertility is what I was looking for, the rest I knew with the exception of the recognition by her. That, I did not know.
