How many eggs can a first time broody handle

I usually give my (large fowl) broodies 6 (large fowl) eggs a piece. I have given as many as 9 before.

This same subject came up yesterday at the feed store as my hen went "stealth" on me and moved into my large haystack and I wondered how many eggs could be in there as she only came out with 3 peeps friday. They were saying 6 to 9 is not uncommon. Depends on how long the hen was laying "one a day" in the nest.

it all depends on how big she is....give her the eggs and if she pushes them out she either doesnt want them or cant handle them....
