I have a broody, and I'll be giving her eggs in a day or so (once she's proven she's serious). How many eggs can my Narragansett hen cover?

Thanks!

I'm not familiar with the breed, so I can't really say. How big are they?

ETA, I would love to have space for turkeys!

Two weeks ago I found one of my Blue Slate hens sitting on eggs in my dry pond. I don't let my hens hatch out there own eggs if they are not in a safe place. I took her off the next and put her eggs in my incubator. She had 26 eggs under her. Some where stacked on top of each other. The nest was pretty deep made of rotting leaves. I had candled the eggs and they looked great. I figured they where about half way developed when I found her. Two days ago 22 of those 26 eggs hatched. Genetically I could tell not all the poults where from her eggs. Another hen or two must have laid her eggs in the same next. The other 4 eggs don't look good.

My Narragansett are normaly larger than my Blue Slates. I think on average my hens sit on 18-20 eggs at a time.
