Today, 3 eggs from 4 laying hens.

Snow cold and wind. The egg counts are definitely down! 3 and 4 eggs for the past 3 days!
More snow today so tomorrow will probably be a slow day too. Can't say that I blame them, they don't even want to go outside the coop!

I like to have a dozen or two hanging around. Take today for instance. Used 12 to make deviled eggs for a family gathering, planning on breakfast in the morning, which will use about 10. My husband likes to take some for coworkers, and I still have a few family members that haven't gotten any yet that would like to try them. We usually average dozen every 2 days from 8 chickens that starting laying right around Thanksgiving.

I have 5 dz in the fridge right now...with more ready to be put in. I am a little overwhelmed by eggs right now. I'm sure that will be changing with school and reg schedule starting up again. Let the girls/boys out for the first time in the snow so I could get the coop dry the best I could. Only 4 eggs today, which is really weird. Usually 6-9 eggs a day for quite awhile. I am looking forward to all the girls to get going in the Spring..I just can't imagine where I will put them all. I guess that will be a good excuse to hatch and sell some

. Alice Ms. Grumpy feathers will be so excited that she will finally get to put all that sitting around to good use
