How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

15/24 today, girls weren't quite so happy when I let them out this morning. Here is what awaited them, they all put the breaks on at the pop door, had a 26 bird pile up lol.

4 so far, including two from the Silkies. Expecting one more, but I have the feeling one of the sex links has started to lay her eggs in the woods while she is out cruising.

Lol might be, I have a new this spring BSL that only after two weeks of laying decided to go broody. She definitely did not like the broody buster cage.

Chicken lady, you can keep that stuff up there, thank you very much! Lol.

The Weather Service is looking at a "major snow event" for the Midwest next Wed/Thur. I hope they are wrong.

So your lay rate is 62%, mine is 51%-59% (I get 14-16 eggs a day), and you are in Maine, which is even further North than me. How many hours of daylight are you getting? I get 8, and I do not use lights.

I don't know, probably about the same. Mine are wyandottes, new layers, I don't use any light in the coop. They lay 4 eggs most days five now and then.

Last winter approximately 10foot snow drifts, i was going to go back there to get a better pic,but didn't want to take a chance on getting stuck
You know, everyone talks about "white as snow" but I don't think there are prettier blues in the world than the blues associated with a snowy landscape. I love them all, from the pewter of a winter sky when the sun is trying to shine to the intense blue of a stream flowing under and around snow covered boulders.
