4/5 today. My "Welsummer" took a day or two off and laid one almost twice the usual size.

Got home today from New Mexico. Had a nice visit. Got to go on a hot air balloon ride in the Rio Grande gorge and go on a sunset horse back ride. Also went to a Flamenco dance and dinner show (which I did not enjoy, but my mother did).
I have no idea how many eggs were laid or collected for the 5 nights I was gone. I collected today. One of the broodies was sock piling eggs!! I candled them and left her with 13!!! She wasn't even the same hen that was sitting when I left. The other hen had also gathered MORE EGGS. After candling those I left her with 3 or 4 (I can't remember ). Then I collected 11 eggs that weren't being sat on. In the next coop I found 7 eggs in the play house, but then the bucket dropped and 5 broke, and I gathered 6 out of the nest box. Then moved onto the turkey coop with it's 1 lone chicken (in with the 5 turkeys). Gathered 4 eggs from that hen. Hubby said he hadn't collected from there at all.
No chickens died this time while I was gone

My first Incubation has been a success ,Thanks to BYC all 20 chicks are peeping!
I ran my temp at 100 they hatched a little early but all are ok I am lowering temp to 99.5 for next time.
Humidity was about 45% for setting and 65% for hatching.
I had no problems no assisted hatching and 100% of my live eggs hatched Genesis 1588 hova bator

but the trip for her to remember and you sorry about the broken eggs.. I bought a couple extra buckets at the dollar store forgot the egg bucket too much room eggs banged one got cracked not through the membrane.. okay so took lone unwanted cockerel to auction this morning he had just started to try to mount girls had BF leave them in the coop spread food scooped him up easy... girls gave me 13 eggs most since he got here
