How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

2 today, from Juillet and Juin.

The girls had a bit of a free for all right before bed. Août found a skink in their run and fly tackled it, and then the other two quickly joined the fray. Poor thing was quite tossed about, lost its tail and a back leg, but I managed to get Juin to drop it in the end and I took it to relative safety. Août was pleased though, since she got to eat the tail while the other two were fighting over the rest of the poor creature.

I only got 5 girls are ticked at me have had one hen wanting to be broody but only playing at it.

Half a dozen day today. All were solid and mostly clean.

Five eggs so far from my eight girls. Hoping there will be a couple more when I get home from work.

1 today..Bossy got lazy and laid an egg in the grass next to the coop. They’ve been free ranging all day today. I got Jade out of the nest box and set her up in a wire cage to break her broodiness. She is NOT happy! Flossy is still on stall rest and also not happy, but her swollen foot seems to be getting better slowly.

2 today, from Juin and Août.

Juillet tried to lay her egg late in the day, but I guess it just wasn’t time. I’m expecting another two-toned egg in the morning from her, but we’ll see.

4 out of 4 laid today however one was weak shelled and had been eaten. Been getting 2 to 3 per day, once just one. I reckon they’re thinking about molting.

7 today! Our broody girl Lua came out and enjoyed some dust bathing with the rest of the girls! About time! That is Lua on the left.
