Nice! Which one gives the blue egg, and what is she? And the dark egg, is that hen a Marans?

The dark egg is from my Welsummer, Brelly. She’s been a very consistent layer so far, almost everyday she lays these perfect terracota eggs

The “blue” egg is actually a cream colored egg from my Dominique hen Juin. Sunset just does strange things to my phone camera. If I could get more pullets I’d love to have some blue and green layers. Maybe someday!

Update: At dusk I heard someone squawking and went out to find Jade coming out of the crepe myrtles. Grabbed my handy-dandy egg retriever (aka backscratcher) and scooted the tiny thing to where I could reach it.

No eggs yet today, but I caught Goldie in the oyster shell, so maybe she’s gonna start laying again soon. Now…the big girls need to get their act together

4 eggs from 5 hens....although we got a double yolk so it made up for the slacker chicken....

5 molting hens, feather are very where, I might be able to make a pillow out of their feather

It is really nice to see the chicken run and coop with feather gently floating here and there.

The ladies have been on a hot streak. I've gotten 5 twice this week and will get at least 4 today (from 7 gals). I guess I'm averaging 4 per day this week.
