How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

10 today and 10 yesterday. I think I need to go on an egg hunt again seeing as there are a few birds I haven't gotten eggs from lately. The girls are gonna have a rude awakening when I finally get their run closed in and I can lock them up.

16 if my math is right. That doesn't count the 4 I found in a hidden nest. There may be more in a nest I didn't go out and check after a hen made a run for it when I opened her coop up. I watched her circle the place again the spot where I have found her laying before. Lately she has been laying in her coop.

I got 4 again today from 7. Another beautiful egg from my easter egger that I thought was never going to lay again after major reproductive problems last year.

Finally got another Banty egg, the first since I found their stash about a week ago. The Golden Comets are still free-loading. I’m about to wonder if they have some genetic thing going on. They turned 2 in January or so…laid eggs all winter last year. Toward the end of summer the egg production fell off and never picked back up. It’s been very sporadic all winter. The last egg I got that had an actual shell was Feb3. Since then it’s been shell-less eggs if any at all. And the thin shells have been prominent since late summer. They get 16%layer feed, have oyster shell available in two places at all times. They free range at least 4 hours a day. I’ve been giving grub worms, scrambled egg and eggshells as treats for months. But, no eggs.
