How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

I mean…the grub worms is something I started to try to up their protein, hopefully to get some eggs. They don’t get much in the way of leftovers. They eat all their layer food each day…2 cups for four hens.
I’d think that should be fine. My 6 girls get 4 cups of grower feed, plus the occasional treat and 2+ hours to forage for bugs and greens everyday. I don’t know why your GCs aren’t laying :(

15 beautiful eggs today!

Yay!! We got our first egg today! This morning at around 10:15, there was quite a commotion in the run and when my son went out to check that everyone was ok, he found this beautiful red egg in one of the egg boxes. We're not sure, but think it was laid by Cinnamon, who is the most visually mature of our younger girls (born end of August). Marmalade is 3 1/2 but lays much lighter brown eggs (except she stopped laying back in November when we lost light). I hope Marmalade starts laying again, but we're excited to see this new one.
