How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

I got 4 eggs yesterday from 8 hens.3 BLUE and 1 brown. I have 2 RSL and 5 easter eggers that give me blue/green eggs.I also have a RSL house hen that gives me an egg every other day.Sometimes I get a brown egg so big I can't fit it in the carton.I always get those big eggs though I wish I wouldn't.I don't want a hen having a blow out!

They don't go out much in the winter but I do give them salad mix 2 times a day(lettuce,red cabbage,carrots)

Could be, but they've not been out of their run for the past week because of snow and ice. I've opened the gate a couple of afternoons but they step out onto the snow/ice and go right back in. Too cold for their tootsies, I guess...

thats what I mean, eating more of their cooped up feed, not free ranging as much.... its surprising how much grass and weeds they eat when they can.

I shoveled a good area for them since I dont have a covered run outside the coop and shoveled a path to their favorite dust bathing spot also. LOL they got me shoveling half the yard! I also threw down some straw near their sunny windbreak and they haven't ventured to far away from it. Brrrrr cold. But that break from the wind and lots of sunshine warms you up real nice.

From our five girls right now in January we are getting 3-4 a day... occasionally 2 but not often. I though they'd slack off more in the winter but I guess not. During the summer and fall we were getting 4-5 a day. No complaints, of course!

i get 11 a day right now, no particular color, just whoever decides to lay does... as my hens say... "an egg a day keeps the butcher away!" lol
