How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

So far no eggs today. Although Phoebe and Daphne my two Wellies keep going in the nest box and singing there little hearts out belting out the egg song. I go out and check for the egg and they all just stand there talking to me. I think they are wanting treats..... maybe if they lay an egg. Silly me for after a year still finding it exciting to get eggs.


My Chickens make the biggest mess with crumble. They use their beaks to dig in it and they fling it out everywhere. I will only buy the pellets because of the wasting issue. It is the exact same ingredients just the crumbles are broken pellets.

I got 5 eggs out of 4 pullets and 2 hens!!!! They have been laying really well lately

7/8 today. Kind of figured the soft shell layer would give any today. There were two soft eggs in one spot yesterday.
When I went out to close the run, the bowl of food looked untouched. I held it up to them to eat on the roost. How sad is that!? Lol. This morning I had mixed some cottage cheese with a bowl of pellets, I think,they ate all of that!

9/9... 7 RIR, 2 BSL... Everyday since June... considering they get fresh produce daily from the garden, thats the least they could do. Placed my first set in the incubator tonight.

EVERY ONE of your girls lay 7 days a week and have for 6 months? WOW.

7 yesterday, most of the girls that I know are laying:

1 EE
2 Ancona (one an XL)
1 Australorp
1 Cubalaya
1 Faverolle
1 Partridge Chantecler

And EVERY ONE was in a nest box!

So today will probably be lighter unless some of the other 4 start laying

I have 6 hens ( two australorps, new hampshire, rir, buff opr and a wyndotte/rir mix). 5 of them are less than a year old around 8 or 9 months. the other one is two. I keep her because she is very broody. She lays a solid white egg. I am getting one egg a day. Is this normal. I have a friend who had 5 hens and he gets 5 eggs a day. Is there something that I am not doing right? I am new to chickens so any help would be greatly appreciated. TIA

8/8, though two were broken. I think my ding bat chicken is pecking a hole in them. I also have a problem keeping straw in the boxes. In the coop for that matter.... They keep sagging it out into the run! That might be how the eggs are getting broken, because they are laying right on the wood. One of the eggs was on the porch of the run today, too. I had to crawl out to get it!

I got a BIG one from my Production Red when compared to my Buff Orpington's egg.
