How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

Only my RIR had a red comb, the rest have light pink.

Sounds like most of them aren't quite mature enough to lay then. Mine had a definite and obvious shift from small pink to larger combs and wattles (breed dependent - really large for the Anconas, still almost non-existent in the Chanteclers) that were red.

5 today
1 EE, a Faverolle, a Chantecler (we think, still have to catch these two in the act!), one Ancona and an XL almost as white as a store egg. Not sure who laid this one. The Anconas are they only ones that are supposed to lay white and theirs are slightly off white (I think someone in their family tree must have been a brown layer). My "fear" given the size of the egg is that Persephone, an EE, is laying white. That would be a bummer since I was expecting 2 blue/green layers.

4 so far today, had to wait out in the barn for 1/2 hour for Clemence to lay. She was squawking and wandering here, there. In the coop, out, back in. In the nest box, back out, in, out. I figured "Here is my chance to finally see what she lays". I put Echo's darker brown egg (laid earlier in the other box) in the box just in case it would help. More in and out. Finally she stayed and came out 10 minutes later. Not a peep, no song. but there was an egg

Left to right:
Not sure, probably a Chantecler. Very smooth and shiny. Peachy brown?
Cubalaya, also smooth. pale peach or rose
Australorp, a little rough. Some small white specks
Clemence! Faverolle, a little rough. Darker shade of pale peach or rose than the Cubalaya egg



Update:
Andromeda laid again today, Large blue/green EE egg 8 days in a row unless Persephone has started and lays EXACTLY the same color.
Yue was working on an egg at "scratch time", about an hour before lights out. She popped out of the box and never laid the egg. I'm guessing she'll be on that first thing in the morning.
First day since 11/29 that neither of the Anconas laid an egg.

2/2 from my silkie girls!

My fiancee has RIRs and rocks and they haven't given us eggs in like a month. He's to turn the lights on in a few weeks.
So technically my silkies are better layers than his right now!

LOL, I had a silkie hen who was an AWESOME layer! My silkie hen now... she hasn't laid an egg in over a month. She gave me one today. Also, my EE/bantam cochin broody mama gave me a green egg today for the first time in 3 months! A few weeks of her eggs, and she'll be broody again. ANYWAY,

Slow day with only 5 eggs. When we left for our Christmas party 2 buffs were in the nest box, when we came home and checked ther was only 1 egg. So someone was faking it!

2/2 again from my silkies! I put them straight into the incubator. I put 16 in last night. Very very excited. It'll be my first silkie hatching.
Kinda funny I'm using an incubator for silkie eggs, huh?

So we have no eggs at all to eat this morning though
