How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

Hey, that was MY line! But, I guess since I don't need it any more, you can use it. But tell the girls to get a move on, I might need to lend it to someone else

6 today. They have averaged a dozen every 2 days for the past 10 days.

Sorry, I didn't checked the whole thread I just went to last post.
They already have 13 weeks old.
I;m waiting for the first egg.

5/7,but its still early. My good laying hen is sitting right now...silly girl, she keeps hoarding all the eggs trying to hatch them, and i just keep taking them away... but she's a good momma and a great egg layer when she's laying.

For the past week since the Gals have started laying we've been getting 10 eggs one day and 12 the next. We have 24 BSL's and they just started laying when they hit 26 weeks. I bet I can tell exactly which ones are laying and those that aren't. About a dozen of them have developed combs and are just a bit wider in the butt. The other 24 still have pea combs and are just starting to get fuzzy butts. Plus the ones who have developed combs are constantly doing the squat 'n shake when I walk by them. Too funny.

By the way, the BSL's are a fine looking bird. I'll have to post some pics of them in the next few days. I thought they'd be completely black but it turns out many of them have ginger or gold colored cape feathers from their heads down to their craws. The rest of them are black though. A couple of them are completely black and are so black they have a green sheen to them in the sunlight. I'll post pics soon.

Might want to get a good book and hang out. Even the REALLY early ones I've read about here didn't start until 16 weeks.

20+ weeks old seems to be more in the normal range for "early".

Edit: Forgot to put in my count for the day!
Only 5 today so they have slipped off their "one dozen every two days" routine.
Should be a good day tomorrow though.

Must be something in the air. We only got 6 yesterday, 3 today. We have usually been getting 8 one day, 5 or 6 the next. Hopefully they'll be back on track tomorrow, my husband has a line of people waiting for eggs at work! Plus, the kids have gotten used to eggs for breakfast.

Proud to anounce that I had 4 eggs today and have identified 3 of the layers...1 buff orp. 1 silver laced wayondette and 1 barred rock.....there is one lady that is my mystery layer...however 11 more hens to start laying yet.
