How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

5/6 yesterday, 4/6 today. Been somewhat inconsistent since I've been on vacation and all of our daily routines are a little out of whack. Been all over the board from 2-6/day the last week and a half.

Went out about an hour ago and none so far today. But it was a balmy 7 degrees in the coop this morning, and the girls have still been outside all day like usual. Some of the hens were all fluffed up trying to stay warm, but they don't seem to realize or care that they could go inside the coop if they wanted lol. I guess it's not any warmer in there anyway, since it's not heated. They only go in there to lay their eggs and for bed at night, which is good. Guess I should do another egg check, they'll probably freeze pretty quickly today!

Only 3 today. Persephone laid again, 8 days straight. They are getting lighter green as the streak continues.

Finally 5 eggs today, still pretty low but maybe with the new year things will start happening again.
I had 3 1/2 dozen in the fridge since i havent been at work for the winter break, so I gave a dozen to BIL and nephew.
Back to work tomorrow I will have the teachers asking for eggs again....so the girls had better get laying.
It has been very cold here but the coop stays pretty warm considering. The girls didn't much care for the snow in the run so we shoveled much of it out of the way.

Happy New Year! 8/9 is the best day in a while and a good way to start the new year. It was down to 15 degrees last night so I didn't really expect such a nice surprise. Maybe it was the extra butternut squash peels and seed along with the BOSS last night???

2/6 today. Not bad since we were down to single digits last night and didn't make it out of mid teens today. Already back down to single digits, gonna be a cold one in the coop tonight!
