How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

2/5 for 3 days in a row..that's actually good for what they've been doing! Keep finding eggs all over the yard though and every time I do they move the nest. I'm thinking there may be more eggs out there. None are molting and 2 just started laying so all 5 are laying now.
lock your girls in the coop for about a week, get them used to the egg boxes before letting them back out .this will stop the laying out side the coop.

Found out our EE is an olive egger, yay! She lays gorgeous khaki green velvety eggs.

My EE that lays green goes from a medium olive all the way to such a light green it is hard to tell from the other EEs blue egg which sometimes shades blue green.

We had our first 100% day.

Congrats! I'm still waiting for a 100% day. The best they have done is 66.6666666 (you get the picture)%

1 chicken egg, but one of the chickens ate it

I got 4 eggs frm 7 girls ... 3 are molting still.

For all that chickens "know" instinctively why the heck do they moult in COLD weather?? And why the heck do they try to hatch eggs when there is no rooster?

5 today and Zorra laid AGAIN. 16 days in a row. She was on the nest at ~3 PM in one end of the 3 nest divided open box and Laura was in the nest at the other end. I came back at 4:15 to put them to bed and Zorra's egg was in the box but Laura's was on the coop floor. What is her little chicken brain thinking? "I'll sit here until I am ready for the egg to come out, then I'll hop down to the floor to lay"? Zia was in the box at 4:15 so I came back at 4:30 and put them to bed, collecting Zia's VERY warm egg.

Only 3 today but they were all Jumbo or larger so I can't complain. My Barred Rock, Lucy, didn't lay yesterday so I got a Jumbo from her today. She usually lays an extra large egg, but she also takes one day off each week.

EricaD- such a pretty collection of eggs! Other than the dark brown of Lucy's eggs I can't tell who lays which egg, because they are all so close in color.

When I get my taxes done and the money in hand, I'm going to buy my self a coop camera, watch them like hawks and see who gets into the nests and lays. I will finally answersthat question...... Who is laying ! Lol
