How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

Mine are huddled together in their insulated hen house with the brooder light on. I waited until it warmed up to 11 degrees before going out to feed them; put the eggs (6 today) in the fridge to warm them up.

I hear you on putting eggs in fridge to warm, we had a high of -1* today.

So ok yesterday I posted I got 18/24 & that I would probably end up with 9 today. Well I wasn't too far off the mark, only got 10

So I wait 21 days after I gave my flock Duramycin-10 to eat their eggs and they all decide to skip today. For the past three weeks I've been getting 4-5 eggs a day from 11 birds and I had to throw them in the trash. Today, I was so excited to eat the eggs again, but I get nothing. lol

I know I'm complaining, but store-eggs suck! =/

I am just amazed at how cold the rest of the country is. I wonder if we are in for one more cold blast before spring. I'm feeling really bad for everyone who is seeing these frigid temps! stay safe!

LOL LOL LOL....I saw her eyeballing the fence this morning, but I'll never catch her trying to fly over, she is to sneaky to be seen doing it. Hopefully she isn't smart enough to figure out that I caused her inability to fly.

Beautiful presentation. I love how it blends in and shows off the colors of the eggs.
Here's one I made for my window sill last year. It's a scrap piece of cove molding I found in the barn. Cut a piece off and inverted it for the raised end (glued to the bottom). The lower end is another piece turned sideways and glued to the end.
The molding had a dark patina on it from being in the barn for probably decades, so I just oiled it with coconut oil instead of painting or varnishing.

Upcycling moulding, I love this too.

oh and advantages of having a broody in the middle of the winter, my eggs never freeze! haha

You guys are not going to believe this. I got 12 yes 12 today! Must really be getting back on track now, even in these freezing temps of -25.

I'm so jealous, I need a broody, I resorted to putting eggs in the incubator today. My broodies don't want to work yet.
