How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

Kendrain, I forgot to tell you how I call my chickens for treats.  Your new girls will coming running to it!  In a  high pitched voice and to the tune of "here kitty kitty"  I call "Here chick chick chick, here chick chick chick"  (The chick chick chick part is called out in rapid succession)

I've trained them to that call since they were day old chicks!

They will stampede over to you!  :ya

I can't believe  I forgot to tell you that!

Also: Did you get the White Leghorn with missing belly feathers?  The 2 I have are intact. She plucked her feathers because she went broody in January....yea...broody, a production white leghorn!!!!

I would think the feathers would still be missing until molt right?

If you don't have her, then the lady I sold 2 to has her.  I forgot all about it at the time....:/
yes PeeWee is missing feathers. Which actually makes me really excited. I want one to go broody to hatch some olive eggers and hopefully darker down eggs. She's so friendly but likes to hang out rather thAn follow me around. I hadn't looked that close. I like to sit down and watch them to make sure everyone is getting along.

8/9 today.....heavy rain last night and this morning and temps in the mid 50's......I think Lala is molting, she squats about every 5 steps wether any one or thing is around her or not and feathers are coming loose in clumps. With all the rain it was this afternoon before we could get out and play around the new coop. Cutting down scrub oaks and raking up leaves , but it's starting to look respectable! We let the girls out to free range and of course we see the hawks, that's right TWO of them, great a pair!

The girls stayed close to the coop, but Lala did venture out to the new coop to inspect the progress!

She must approve, she blessed it with a deposit!

wow those  white eggs are so bright they hurt my eyes. LOL
yes the picture kind of reflected. Even without a flash. The first picture with the white is better. But they look so clean and pretty. I can't help but take pictures. Tomorrow I'm going to take pictures of the home girls and newbies free ranging or minnehaha. I am hoping to get some fencing up for the goats. I hope my son will be up to helping me after his night out at prom! Lol

I got 9 eggs today, 3 of which went onto the incubator (with 26 other eggs) for the Easter HAL.
OOPS, I just noticed I had already posted how many eggs I got today!
