How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

i usually get 4 or 5 eggs every day. For the last three days my girls have been roaming the yard (the snow is finally melting) and my egg production has dropped to 3 eggs a day. I have searched everywhere thinking they may have laid them elsewhere. I cant find any secret laying spots and the other eggs were all in the nest. Hmmmmm?!?!

Could the excitement of getting to run around all day change their laying habits?

its normal sometimes they just need the rest from laying alot of eggs a number of days in arow. some days i get 6 7 8 eggs a day from my 8 hens. never get a perfect 100% everyday.

Today, when I went out to get my eggs, I got a whopping 19 eggs!

The surprise, I have 16 hens. I know that I had to have a few lay after I left for work yesterday evening since it was so nice out. So this is the first time I've had all of them lay in one day. I'm looking forward to having more full baskets as the spring continues.

Well finally my 6 kept Pullets I hatched last year are starting to join in....So the older 5 have been laying but now today:

I Got 7 eggs and was excited until I went out to check they all roosted and there was one more!!!!

So today was the first time to get 8 out of the 11 hens!!!!! Was averaging 4-6. Now just have to figure out who is consistently laying double yolks.... don't want her in the breeding/hatching group.

JadedPhoenix it sounds like someone has been hiding eggs.... may have brought them out to make a clutch to sit on. I always stir the nesting liter a bit to check for buried eggs.
