How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

5/6 today. Not too shabby.
Our BO laid in the nestbox for quite a while this morning. She wasn't sitting on any eggs because DD had just collected them but as soon as she went in to nest, the loud mouth started singing her egg song.

3/3 mine have been egg laying machines since they started 3 months or so ago. I am amazed at the consistency. Two Delawares and one Americauna.

2 from 4 today, not bad considering we only got them on Monday and they have given eggs for the past 3 days, either they are just very happy chickens or im a great owner

girls are two years old now, and laying regularly. We have been getting 2 or 3 eggs evey day, even through most of the winter, cold as it was here in the Northeast. We were worried about them being cold, so we wrapped the coop, 2/3 of the way up, with a fairly thick clear plastic, and had one of those red bulbs used for the brooder all winter. That's all it took!

Yesterday, I went out to collect the eggs, and found one HUGE egg, and two normal sized ones. The huge egg weighed the most of any egg we have gotten (we have a very accurate post office type scale). It was a whopping 3.8 ounces. Almost a "quarter pounder"!

Here are the three eggs. I'm pretty sure the whopper was laid by our australorp.

8 eggs from 8 hens...2 littles wont lay till august I guess the bigs are over being mad at me for forgetting to coop them after a ER visit with the grandson...they punished me for stressing them by reducing the egg numbers for 3 days...LOL, and eating most of my sweet potato vines, but I guess they are happy with me again
