it is usually a new one they will all harden up within a few days8/14 but again one with no shell. I know they have plenty of oyster shell. Could it just be a new layer??
hoping your all safe may take the girls a bit to get back to businessLucky you. We are sitting under a tornado watch and several other weather alerts. Long night ahead and my birds haven't given me even 1 egg due to it all.![]()

at least I get to see how well we built the new coop.![]()
Thanks for the response. I have 14 hens and have never gotten more than 12 eggs. I am figuring that 2 of my girls are still freeloading even though they are nearly a year old.it is usually a new one they will all harden up within a few days
Hope everyone's ok, sorry no eggs today but as long as your safe and your chooks, did you built your own coop?
Last summer we had a tornado passed thru a 1 mile area through our allotment most neighbors lost roofs and trees and no power for few days since we lost half a dozen power posts. The coop I built miraculously survived and the 4 trees few feet sheltering the coop & run unharmed but our hens skipped egg laying for couple of days.

I am so glad to hear that, We use to reside in Wisconsin left in 68 for Washington state and no TornadosThanks. We got LOT of wind and some moderate rain here. We were right where the two main waves of the storm split apart. THANK YOU GOD!!!
I will check for damage in the morning.
