No eggs for a few days now .. looks like I'm going hunting before the dog snouts them out. Although, come to think of it, I haven't heard any egg songs either. Maybe they've tucked tails until this cold air passes over.

It looks to be an eastern or western rat snake, depending on location. they can be hard to tell apart.

It’s a lovely looking creature.

My chooks enjoy harassing the snakes here, brats! I generally have to rescue the poor creatures so they don’t get eaten!

My one hen killed and ate a frog the other night, I was lucky enough to get it all on video (glad I am not a frog!).

You must be entering your Spring time soon. Daylight hrs getting longer for you, but shorter for me. 7:30pm and it’s already getting dark. And doesn’t get light until gone 6:30am.

I was getting plenty during the unseasonal warm weather .. since the cold has returned there has been less action. Betty bantam rushed from the coop to the agapanthus patch about 30mins ago. She can hold those eggs hostage lol

I spoke too soon. I found another one, so yes 14. The one I found is a BCM. It's very dark.
