I got my first egg today! The pullets were born the third week in June. I believe it came from a Welsummer, Lulu. The shell is the pale pink and she's the most interested in what I'm doing with the egg.

1 tiny egg from my Pekin bantam hen. Her egg is too cute to eat.
Broody hens, wet humid weather, sick rooster away from the flock, don't feel laying egg, just taking a break, on strike because I stop give them their afternoon treat - banana.

Personally, I think your 32 hens talk to each other about egg laying....whatever the issue/s is/are, the outcome is that they seem to be on strike. Would be good if you find out what their demand is.

Juin has now reached her 1 year anniversary from when she started laying, and her total number of eggs laid in that time is… 303! Amazing!

I didn’t realize non-hybrid breeds could be so productive, and while I’m extremely impressed, I still worry a little at such a high figure. I care more about her health and longevity than anything. Maybe she’ll take the winter off once the solstice arrives. Still, what a champ!
