How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

My ladies are getting up there, they're all between 6 and 8 years old now. They've always been super good about laying through the winter, so I guess I can't fuss too much that they decided to take this year off. 😏
Wow! That’s a great age! Well done, that’s a true testament to your care with them ♥️

That might be the cause of no eggs, they are heading into retirement. My oldest girl is almost 4 year old and I hope my flock will live as long as your. Your flock must be healthy to reach that age.

3 eggs today! Juin, Août and little Helmikuu :)

Helmi’s is the little pink egg, so cute! I watched her lay it, as did the entire rest of the flock who came in either out of curiosity (my other pullets), support (Juillet, the ever-attentive leader), or impatience at needing the nestbox (Août). Juin was there likely just so she could snuggle in my lap.

Here’s our cute new layer, with her big red comb and wattles! Isn’t she lovely? :love

She is beautiful. I love those feather pattern. What breed is your girl? My Japanese bantam chick has the same colour pattern.

I have 4 hens and haven’t received any eggs for a few months now. Had to purchase eggs from the grocery store last month for the first time in one and a half years now. Sigh
Might be the cold weather, short sunshine, molting,
change of feed, stress? .e.tc.. How old are they?
So long they are healthy and being chickens that is a good thing.

I have 1 hen who has never lay an edible since she arrived at 1.5 year of age, she does here and there pooped a farted egg and scream on top of her lung that I did it!!! Sweet as a button, but not a layer. She is healthy and sweet girl. I often joke that she is a freeloader.

I did go through a period of no eggs like you, I don't know why they don't lay any, but they were eating, and doing all the chicken stuff except laying. Then one day they just return laying again. It is a mystery to me.
