How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

10 yesterday and 9 today, but one doesn't quite count...

as it was this fairy egg;

soft shelled just on the poop table sitting in the sand. It is the size of a marble. I'm sure it's from Custard, I haven't seen an egg from her in days. Don't really know what causes this. It just is what it is I guess.

Blanche laid her first egg today!! I felt SO BAD for her when I went to go get it, it was SO bloody -- it was a BIG first egg omg. Her poor little vent :( She got treats today for being such a good girl.

My husband got a pic of her right before -- she was nosing about, picking her spot - she's adorable.

26 weeks old -- she's the dear who is the Pox carrier. It never spread to anyone else, or it did and no one else showed any symptoms. She has a little scar on her beak from it. But she is a hale and lovely girl, quite quiet and shy. SO big too. A nice brown color egg!
And such a lovely colour she is too.

Congratulations on your first egg Blanche.

14 eggs today.

They are all over the map lately with regards to egg counts.

Found the one blue egg on the floor just as I walk in the barn! Another lucky egg! Not sure how I didn’t step on it!

3 eggs today, from Août, Helmi and Brelly!

Helmi’s eggs continue to have very heavy bloom, so that they look a bit pinkish purple. It’s a nice addition to my brown and cream eggs from the hens.

The bounty overfloweth! There are two more pullet eggs I can’t manage to stuff in santa’s belly, lol. I guess we’ll have scrambled eggs and rosemary toast for Christmas breakfast :)

11 eggs today, 6 were blue! First time the blue have outnumbered the brown.

Got 2 eggs yesterday, one with a small hole (not in the picture) and another way smaller than usual, that coin is 2.8 cm in diameter.
Ah, a fairy egg! 😊

Oh it's not important if she is laying - I don't mind her being a freeloader at all <3 If she doesn't have the sense to eat the oyster shell bits I've got on offer then she's just a little derpy and she can be derpy, it's alright 😂

But thanks for the info - now I know why she's stopped. That or the daylight hours?

Merry Christmas everyone <3
The calcium pill can help because sometimes they don't absorb the calcium properly from the oyster shell and they kind of need to be "kick-started." Trying to push out soft-shell eggs is very difficult and I understand can even result in vent prolapse. The calcium will help her on both counts - help her to expel any soft-shell eggs she may have inside by strengthening her contractions, and help her to form proper eggs going forward.

Make sure you have Vit D with it, calcium needs the D to process it properly.
