My roommate is from here and she just sat around with a shocked look afterward. She said she'd never seen wind like that and she thought it was a tornado. "We're in the middle of the southwest desert, there aren't tornadoes here," says I. Hahaha. I was wrong. We found out the next day it was an EF 1. It touched down southeast of us but we still got those winds.

Today I learned EF stands for "Enhanced Fujita." I kept reading that as "Enchanted Fajita" and was very confused.

You’re very lucky! So glad you were ok. We have a few here every year, I swear I am in the Goldilocks zone, we have tornadoes all around us but we are lucky to not have any issues here - and it can stay that way!

2 eggs yesterday and I think Saturday. Only one today. I think my being ill is taking a toll on my girls. I will have to give them more time so they can start doing what they should be doing.

Eleven hen fruit today. My olive egg is getting darker every day. Here it is contrasted with blues and browns. The top brown egg is the same size as all the others, just looks ginormous due to camera angle.

I got 0 eggs today
Not really surprised since my only current layer started last Sunday so is still getting the hang of it lol

Surprisingly I got an egg today! I haven't gotten an egg since Nov. 5th, and that was from the same hen that laid today. It was my Dominique that laid today, and the egg is longer shaped, lol! Usually I get 0 eggs from November to Feb./Mar. So this was definitely a surprise!

didn't find any eggs yesterday. This morning I saw another nesting spot with one of the hens on it, she may be laying or it could be the fertilized nest. Will check back later today to see if the hen is favoring it.

Got 3 eggs on this last day of the year.

ETA: I found one more, so 4 eggs total today. I'm finally done counting eggs for the year!

Ending the year with a nice eight. That brings the total to 1130 eggs. Not bad for first year layers who started laying on July 29th, so that's the total for just five months. Much more than we expected. We had to share a lot with friends and family. Thank you, ladies!
