How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

We're deep in the throes of molting, so I'm only getting one to three a day from ten layers. I still have one hen with chicks and a wannabe broody, so I guess that's about right. The broody is VERY persistent, but NO. MORE. CHICKS. THIS. YEAR! :rant
I have one trying to play that on me too.

2 today. One from Dove at 46 grams, a 52 gram one from Red.

I thought it would be 3 but The Nuzzler was in and out of the nest, panting, going pale, adding feathers and nesting materials, turning round and round, then decided to drink a bunch of water, take a couple dust baths and preen. She seems to have forgotten all about laying her egg for now.😤 She hasn't stood her tail all the way up all day and I know it is coming soon.

I was in the run just sitting back and observing for more than an hour... Silly me.🙄

I’d keep an eye on her too. Give her a little extra calcium maybe, to help her push the egg out (helps with muscle contractions). The droopy tail is always worrying. If she’s dust bathing she must not feel too bad though.

She was anxious early in the day and then carried on with a straight to slightly down tail. No straining posture just a little low. Dovey did this at first and even Red did it for a day before she laid so I thought she was not too bad.

Should I just pop a pill in her beak tonight? I have them ready but wasn't sure it was the right thing to do for a new layer. She has been at the oyster shell a lot over the last week but not so much today.
