Hello!
I have just joined this forum and love all these posts! My favorite post is the family from Texas showing their egg being blessed by the Virgin Mary Mexican Tin Wall Art.
We have 11 pullets that are 22 weeks old. One of my Easter Eggers has laid three eggs since Saturday (today is Wednesday) and another Black Australorp has given us
two. I actually arrived in the coop after the Lorp had laid it, she got off the nest and it was still warm! We had put golf balls in the nest boxes and that helped because the first egg
was next to a covered hay bale in the corner.
We are so very new at this hobby, but our coop is vintage. My husband's grandparents built the 'estate' in 1930 and they had a hobby farm. They raised chickens, pheasants, ducks, geese, and one of the sheds had a loft for squab. They also had a few cows for milk and horses. They grew soybeans, alfalfa, and vegetables. Grandpa was an engineer and was
trying to devise energy from soybeans. He also built a steam engine auto. This farm was originally in the country but now we are suburban.
Our community requires 20 acres for ONE chicken.

We are keeping a low profile!!
Our little shih zu mix dog and hens get along supremely. He is afraid of them. The Barred Rocks intimidate him in the coop and he hides behind my legs when I check on them.
The Brown Leghorns come up from behind and peck at his long fuzzy curled tail. Trying to get a photo of this because it is hilarious!
Keep up these great postings!
