8 or 9 out of 12. DH collected 4 or 5 in the early afternoon (I didn't count them and he can't remember) and I went in the coop later and found 4 more. My EE has started laying her pretty green eggs again!

I'm glad to hear that, MxPres!!! We've been giving our Gals our mix of a little oatmeal, crushed red pepper flakes or cayenne, a little sugar and hot water then mixing it up with their layer pellets in the mornings for the past six weeks or so. Sometimes we mix in leftover beans, mashed potatoes, or anything we think they'll go for, which by the way is just about anything edible. They go nuts for it just like you say. I think it gives them a boost during all this cold weather we've been having this winter. And I do think it has something to do with them laying so well all winter long when they weren't supposed to be.
Today we 16 big brown ones from our 19 GC's again. Way to go, Gals!!!
