28/35 now yesterday, that's the most I've had in one day all year and that's just about an egg from every hen that is of laying age on the place as I still have around 5 that are not laying but should be soon.
I'm pretty sure there are a few hiding them out in the boonies also, as I've got some that think I'm stealing their eggs so they are always on the lookout for new hiding places.
4 on the first trip to the chicken kingdom! Yesterday was 7 out of 8 so maybe today will be 7 too! Which I can't complain I would be happy with three a day; one for me and two for DH.
Yesterday I got exactly 1 dozen from my 15 standard birds and I got 1 from one of my Silkies - don't know which one but she laid it WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY over on the other side of the run in the dirt where I broadcast their scratch grains. heheeeeeeeee On another note, I cracked open a 3" long huge egg that another one of my Silkie hens had been sitting on for 24 days and guess what was inside!!!!!! 2 egg yolks - didn't smell too horrible, but definitely needed discarding. I was so glad that no chicks were in it, but I was sorry for my little Silkie who was trying so hard to be a good Momma and hatch the darn thing.
